IFA May 2016 Newsletter

As always we want to thank you for coming every month to be part of the amazing Independent Film Arizona community.

Join IFA for our May meeting, “How To Hire The Best Actor.” The daunting phase of hiring the best actor for your film might not be as grim as you think. For our next meeting, we’ll have a group of expert panelists (well trained Directors, Actors and Casting Directors), who will explain the process of looking for, finding and negotiating the best options. Our panelists will also give the best advice to actors, so they can be prepared for auditions and be ready with all the necessary required materials to impress and possibly secure a part in a film.

Remember, IFA meetings are free and open to the public, but we also strongly encourage you to take the next step and become a member. For only $25.00 a year, you can be part of this amazing group of people who strive to help the independent filmmakers of Southern Arizona. Academic memberships are also available for free for actively enrolled students.

Moderator

KatieKatie Rose Welp

Katie is a Tucson native. She grew up in Montana and Northern California where she started training at a local theater at 11. There she found her love for Shakespeare, and took every opportunity to perform it, even if it meant requesting her friends play out scenes in the living room. She joined her school’s circus in 5th grade, where she learned the power of presentation in a performance. She performed and taught circus throughout middle and high school while maintaining her “A” average at a competitive private school. After high school she attended Vancouver Film School where she graduated with a degree in Film Acting. She has always maintained a love of science. She got her first telescope at 6, and continues her astronomy studies to this day. In high school she learned to love quantum mechanics and astrophysics. She wrote her first script in 7th grade and writes when ever she can.
